Amazing Short Film: Uncanny Valley

Hi!

Some time ago, I found a truly excellent short (under 9 minutes) video/film called, Uncanny Valley—and you'll find it posted below.

Its description on Vimeo says:

"In the slums of the future, virtual reality junkies satisfy their violent impulses in online entertainment. An expert player discovers that the line between games and reality is starting to fade away.  [The film] explores the frightening potential of our next technological revolution."

"Uncanny Valley" addresses modern society's disconnect between people, video game addiction, and the potential for misuse of computer technology—and its story, acting, visual effects, music, editing, and sound are all superb.

HILARIOUS Video: Pika "Sings" Ay-Oh Ardilla - Freddie Mercury

Screen Capture From The Video Below

Hi!

Even if you've never heard Freddie Mercury's original recording from Live Aid—today's video should tickle your funny bone.

Someone used great skill to create a video with a Pika * lip-syncing to Mercury's performance of Ay-Oh Ardilla.

* BTW—the video title states that it is a chipmunk—but a comment under it suggests it is probably a Pika—which is from the rabbit and hare family.

Amazing Video! Close Calls Compilation

Hi!

Today's video is pretty amazing and shows people (and a few critters) narrowly missing major catastrophes and/or escaping certain death in a lot of cases by mere seconds or inches.

Video: Man And His AWESOME Pet Owl

Hi!

This video is not funny—it's not dramatic—and there is not a lot going on—but it is oddly relaxing and even mesmerizing to watch and brought a smile to my face.

The video shows a beautiful pet owl sitting on a man's belly as he enjoys his owners attention—all set to some soft music playing in the background.

If you're animal lover and have a little furry or feathered friend you adore—I'll bet you'll enjoy this one too.

If so—make sure to tip the usher on the way out.

Video: Puck Misses NHL Commentator's Head By Inches - Plus Bonus Vid

Hi!

Today's video shows a very lucky NHL commentator's close call while broadcasting from a hockey game.

It shows a puck missing his head by mere inches.

Screen Capture From Video Reveals How Close Puck Came To Hitting Broadcaster

He was a VERY lucky man indeed—because flying pucks can travel anywhere between 80 – 100 MPH *—and have severely injured people—and as comments under the YouTube video indicate—being hit with a puck can even be deadly.

Hilarious Videos! Trunk Monkey!

Screen Capture From The First Video Below:  Trunk Monkey Commercial

Hi!

I've almost stopped watching most television because it has become nothing more than a commercial generator and endless paid programs hawking junk I'll never need.

When I do turn the TV on—I've been keeping track of how many times I start out with commercials rather than actually landing on a program.

It's way more that 50% of the time that I hit advertisements first thing.

In my life I've had to sit through endless commercial pitches for medicines I'll never use, feminine products I'll never need, cars I can't afford, and products I'll never buy.

And since most stations run their advertising at approximately the same time—trying to channel surf away from them is usually pointless.

So I've been hitting the mute button and putting the guide up that hides most of the screen when I'm waiting for the commercial breaks to end (many are up to 5 minutes long now) and the program I'm waiting for to begin.

--------------------------------

Rarely however, commercials—even for things I don't want are entertaining—and break through the fog of lame and boring advertisements.

Today I happened upon a series of commercials for a car dealership that I truly found engaging and  hilarious.

Banner From The Dealer's YouTube Channel

They're for a fictitious auto "option" called a "Trunk Monkey" that puts a live chimp in your trunk for road-side assistance, help with using the phone wile your driving, car theft, traffic stops, and even dealing with road-raging drivers.

IMHO the premise and execution of these ads are excellent—and definitely tickle my funny-bone—and so are worthy of being shared here.

: )

I've embedded some of the best below—and they're only 30 seconds long (the last one is only 16 seconds)—so if you disagree—this blog won't be wasting your time either.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
