Erie, Mysterious, And Beautiful Northern Lights — Time-Lapse Video Shot In Iceland
Screen Capture From The Video below |
According to a Wikipedia entry: "An aurora (plural: auroras or aurorae), sometimes referred to as polar lights, northern lights (aurora borealis), or southern lights (aurora australis), is a natural light display in the Earth's sky, predominantly seen in the high-latitude regions (around the Arctic and Antarctic)
Imagine what it must have been like for the first explorers who ventured upward to the far-north or south poles — to look up at the sky and see it filled with swirling, dazzling colors.
Would some have been frightened — believing the display to be some kind of omen or sign — or would they have just marveled at their breathtaking mystery taking place before their eyes?
Even today, for those who live far removed from them — the northern polar lights still evoke a sense of awe and wonder.
