FUNNY Video: What If Animals Were Round?

Hello!

So I'm your typical media saturated, entertainment jaded humanoid living in the Year of our Lord 2014.

I often find myself aimlessly going from web-site to website, video to video, and channel to channel...and even with all those entertainment choices at my command...sometimes find myself a bit bored with it all.

So when I click on something and have a genuine laugh...it's a real plus.

Such is the case for the 3D animation:  "What If Animals Were Round?"

I hope you share my sense of humor and get a kick out of it too!

Thanks as always for stopping by!

See you next time!

Funny Pixar Animation - "For The Birds"

Screen Captures From The Video

Hello!

Unless you've been living under a rock you prob'ly already know Pixar has produced a number of 3D animated feature films, beginning with the highly successful Toy Story in 1995.

They followed that success with a string of box office gold and critically acclaimed films like Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and Cars...just to name a few.  (wikipedia:  Pixar)

While all their films have great characters, "set" designs and backgrounds, editing and scores etc...one thing generally sets them apart form a lot of films:  A very entertaining story.

In 2000, Pixar produced, For The Birds , a short film that is a definite case in point.

It premiered on June 5, 2000, at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France, and later was shown alongside a theatrical release of the 2001 Monsters, Inc.  Later it won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2001. (wikipedia:  For The Birds)

For this short film, Pixar took a healthy slice of something we all experience in life (the idea of insular groups, and trying to fit in) and created this very amusing short video.

In the end it even offers up a lesson about life in the spirit of an Aesop's Fable.

Here is a high quality version of it I found recently...enjoy!

Awesome Animation: Blur Studios - "In The Rough"

Screen Captures From The Video

Hello!

It's hard to believe it's been so many years ago...but way back in 2005 I took a number of Maya animation and film-making courses at the college I still attend.

Unfortunately, after really getting into animation for a while...I went on to other things...and sadly have prob'ly forgotten most of what I learned.

And computer animation has changed a lot since then.

It's certain, back in 2005 everything was a lot more difficult to do.  For example, personal computers were much less powerful then...so rendering short scenes would take forever.

Yep...much has changed since then...but an entertaining story is still king.

In 2005, Blur Studios made quite an impression on a lot of people with a short animation called "In The Rough".

It's a very funny story about a caveman dealing with some frustrations of life...that a lot of us "modern cavemen" can relate to.  :)

Sceens From Blur Studios - "In The Rough"

I found a high quality version of it I'll post below.  It's only 5 minutes long...and I'll refund your money if you don't like it.

By the way, if you'd like to know more about the story behind and process for the video...there is a good interview with Blur's Paul Taylor on CGSociety about it.

Enjoy!

Oh...one last thing...there is some "cartoon" violence in it...so if you are worried this might offend you I'll understand if you move on to other links here.
