Since many are still in the Holiday spirit it still seems timely to share today's "music-only" video of "Porky Pig" singing Blue Christmas.
Voice Actor Mel Blanc and Porky Pig |
YouTube's TopshelfTom's Channel offers this info about the song:
"Porky Pig's Blue Christmas, was released by 'Seymour Swine And The Squeelers.'
The recording was the brain-child of Charlotte, North Carolina, radio disc-jockeys, John Boy and Billy — though John is credited with suggesting vocalist Dennis (Denny) Brownlee perform the Christmas song imitating Porky Pig.
After it was recorded, it started getting radio airplay, and then people began purchasing thousands of copies.
Fast forward almost 3 decades" and the song has become a fan favorite novelty song of the Christmas Season.
Though it's an impression of the character the late Mel Blanc created (who also voiced Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and countless others), if you loved Porky Pig you'll probably get a kick outa this one.
Enjoy!
Thanks for looking in.
See you again soon........
