AWESOME Vid: Do BIG CATS Like Fish?

Hi!

If you love cats, then today's video will give you the "warm and fuzzies."

As I've written elsewhere—I LOVE cats—from domestic kitties to magnificent African lions—and everything in between.

So when I saw this video from the folks at Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, Florida—I KNEW I wanted to share it with you here.

Apparently these rescue cat's normal diets consist of red meat—but the video shows a worker feeding them fresh fish—and recording their reactions.

Most of the cats (a jaguar, cougar, serval, caracal, bobcat, and so on) gobble the the morsels down—although at the end the video shows several of these majestic felines who weren't impressed with their sea-food offerings.

My favorite—and popular with commenters as well—shows one cat, Simba, a Savannah (at 53 seconds), who quickly devours several pieces while making a loud "num-num" sound.

It's very interesting to see how different each cat's personality is—some are very aggressive—while others seem more like docile house cats.

Video: Dog-Walker Startled By MASSIVE Moose

Hi!

Perhaps you already know that a fully grown moose can be massively large—and they can also be very dangerous, and even deadly, to people who cross their paths.

An article on moose attacks states that they can be 5 to 6.5 feet tall (1.5 to 2.0 meters) from ground to shoulder, heavier than a bear (male moose, called bulls, weigh up to 1,500 pounds [680 kilograms]), and can outrun humans.

They look somewhat comical—so part of their danger comes from folks underestimating them—especially when they are protecting their young.

Fortunately, no one was harmed in the video of a moose encounter included below—and although the people filming it found the dog-walkers reaction amusing—the older woman was probably wise to quickly turn back away from the giant moose who was having a rest in the shade of a yard in Columbine Lake, Colorado.

Odd & Wonderful Video: Young Woman Plays Sultans Of Swing On A Gayageum

Hi!

I have another unusual video today—this time of a young woman named Luna—Playing a Dire Straits Song (Sultans Of Swing) on Her Gayageum.

From Wikipedia:  "The gayageum or kayagum is a traditional Korean zither-like string instrument, with 12 strings, though some more recent variants have 21 or other number of strings."

As you can see in the Screen Capture From the video—Luna uses insets of her playing different parts.

Anywho—it's very interesting and unusual in my opinion.

Entertaining Video: Rico Loop - "In One Shot"

Hello,

Today's video may not be for everyone—but I thought it was very cool—and definitely unusual. 

The description on the site where I found it gives very little information—but it features a guy in what looks like a European city somewhere using an digital sampler/controller to mix various sounds he creates by ringing bike bells, blowing in bottles—along with sounds he makes with his mouth, a little scatting, and a dash of singing too.

He improvises an entire track while he walks and dances along the street.

What really makes it enjoyable is that he looks like he's having fun—and the people he encounters respond to his enthusiastic performance with smiles—although some seem a bit bewildered as well.

: )

The video is titled "Rico Loop - In One Shot"—which I think is a nod to the performer's name—and of course that it is one continuous shot of him.

Hope you get a kick out of this too.

PS:  The best part in my opinion is when he plays a harmonica in a bluesy style at about 2:23...and he's pretty good too!

I remember not long ago —  when you could visit YouTube and be dazzled by 100's of innovative and entertaining videos.

As they switched over from an open format to "channels" - most of their videos are now popular culture offerings and main stream content — and it's gotten harder and harder to find anything truly unique there anymore.

Thankfully other video sites similar to YouTube have stepped in — and more and more that's where I find myself spending time if I want to just randomly search for interesting videos.

Today while on video sharing site, Live-Leak, I found a very cool video a guy shared of his "Inter-Dimensional Portal In His Bathroom."

It's quite entertaining to watch (and the "screen-capture above does NOT do it justice!).

I Like Pandas - Animation By Jessica Borutski

Hi-dee-ho!

Ok...for this one we get in the "way back machine" (per internet standards anyway) and set it to 2006 when a young, talented animator named Jessica Borutski posted her animation/video I Like Pandas on YouTube.

It's cute...and a little creepy...but funny creepy...not "dark, back- alley, all alone and hearing foot-steps in the middle of the night creepy".

And it's a little addictive in the sense that you cannot "unsee" it once seen...and the day will come when you want to see it again.   : )

Mwah-hahahahaha

Oops...ok sorry...I got a bit dramatic for a second there.
