"Extinguished" - Charming 3D Animation Short

Hi!

Through the years, Ringling College Of Art And Design in Sarasota, Florida, has produced a number of excellent student animators and artists—and many go on to work for the major studios that create the large budget 3D animated films, TV cartoons, and commercials/ads we're all likely familiar with.

Fortunately, the school and its students share their animation projects on-line—and IMHO many rival the quality of what you'd expect from a studio with a HUGE budget like Pixar.

A case in point, is a lovely 3D animation called Extinguished—by Ringling students Ashley Anderson and Jacob Mann.

The plot features a young man searching for love—and all the highs and lows that go along with that.

Bonus points go to Corey Wallace who created a perfect music track for this student project.

Enjoy!

VIA - Awesome Animation

A while back — I found an animation/video — "VIA" — on Vimeo.com — and have embedded it below.

It's beautifully done — the animation is well done, and it's backgrounds and colors are vibrant and pleasing to the eye — while the story is touching and poignant — gently and peacefully unfolding and pulling on the heart-strings along the way.

Video: Modern Educayshun?

Hi,

You'll find a very interesting, darkly humorous video at the bottom of this post about the political correctness that has engulfed our schools and has created a generation or two who's minds have been so severely played with—many are left incapable of rational thought.

First a little info (unless of course you want to go straight on to the video embedded below).

I just finished watching an excellent video by Charlotte Eserbyt about the corruption of our education system by Marxism, socialism and globalism.

The Untold Historical Truth Of American Education

In that video, Iserbyt talks about how our schools have been infiltrated and taken over at the highest levels by people who want to produce a docile, easily controlled, worker class—who are educated just enough to serve their "Masters" but incapable of raising themselves up to anything else.

What she says is enlightening to say the least, and helps explain the current crisis we're in—and I highly recommend checking it out.

----------------------

In the video below, we see the effects of this brainwashing taking place in a fictional "math" class where teachers and students regard each other suspiciously and are applauded for regurgitating political correctness.

Video: Heart Warming or Fat Shaming Commercial?

Hi,

Just today I happened upon an awesome commercial from a supermarket chain, Edeka, in Germany.

It's set in a town filled with people who have been making very unhealthy eating choices resulting in an obese population—and a young teenage boy who wants to break free from this cycle.

Some people have attacked the advertisement for "fat shaming"—but I saw it as empowering (and I have more than a few pounds to lose myself).

Hope you enjoy it and feel empowered by watching it yourself.

Amazing Video: Wild Bear Stalks Two Hikers

Screen Capture From The Video Of A Bear Stalking Two Hikers
Screen Capture From The Video Of A Bear Stalking Two Hikers

Imagine hiking along a trail and then encountering a bear—that instead of running off begins stalking you—often coming within feet.

Two hikers on a trail didn't have to imagine this scenario—it happened to them.

The video shows the bear relentlessly coming after the two hikers who try to scare the bear off—and each time this appears to work—the bear quickly renews stalking the pair.

It looks like a smaller black bear—but even so it could do a lot of damage to a person—or even kill them.

It's obvious neither man had a weapon or bear spray—and eventually both are understandably terrified.

Check out the video—and then think about what you might do in this situation.

Video: Ultraviolet Reveals What Sun Damaged Skin Looks Like

Video Below

Image From The Video:  Ultraviolet Light Reveals Sun Damaged Skin

Hello,

I've lived in California and Arizona now for more than half of my life.

In addition to the meciless sun in Arizona, when I was young I spent many hours on the beaches at Venice and Santa Monica seldom wearing sunscreen—in fact I often used suntan lotions that were supposed to magnify the effects of the sun.

All these years later I can see with my own eyes some of the damage I've done to my skin from constant exposure to the sun—along with a number of wonderful sun burns.  : P

So when I found this video recently (embedded below)—showing both the effects of sun damage on the skin with ultra violet (and as importantly what sunscreen does) I knew I wanted to share it here.

I hope everyone who sees this will consider shielding their skin with sunscreen (as seen in the image above)—not just to protect from aging and damaging your skin—but also from potential dangers such as skin cancer.

Video:The Luckiest Dog In The World

The Luckiest Dog In The World - Photo by Jephyr

Though the video quality may be low—there is no doubt that this is one LUCKY dog.

Perhaps it's part cat—'cause it definitely used up one of its lives.

: D

The video was taken a a race in Santa Cruz, Bolivia—the Codasur 2016 Rally—and the driver, Fernando Zuasnabar, may not have even seen the pup.

You can see people trying to shoo it off the track—but the dog just kept happily trotting down the track.

The near miss is about at :11 seconds.

Again—that was one lucky dog!!

Enjoy!

Video: Argentinean Street Guitarist Dazzles On Dire Straits - Sultans Of Swing

Video below

 ---------------------------------------

Hi!

Question:  How many guitarists does it take to change a light bulb?

Answer:  100

1 to do it and 99 to say “I could have done that...but WAY better”.  *

: )

---------------------------------------

I came across amazing video of a Argentinean Street Guitarist, Damian Salazar, absolutely blazing through a rendition of Dire Straits, "Sultans Of Swing".

A screen capture from the video of Damien Salazar performing
A screen capture from the video of Damien Salazar performing

All combined, his videos, have multi-millions of views...and his talent is unmistakable.

*  Ummmm...unless you're a guitarist, apparently.  The comments on this video are pretty evenly divided between people stunned in amazement at his talent...and guitarists (seemingly green with envy) disparaging Damien's playing for one reason or another.

: )

It's pretty hilarious to say the least.

Anywho...I hope you'll give the video a view and a listen.

Enjoy!

Video: Is A College Degree Worth The Cost?

Have you been thinking about going to college?

If you're fresh out of high school it's what many people expect you to do.  Right?

Or maybe you've been caught up in the lousy economy and think to yourself...if I only had a degree.

Well...before you do you rush off to get one you might wanna watch this interesting video posted by The Peter Schiff Show  on YouTube.

They found "graduates with degrees in mathematics, robotics, neuroscience, engineering, accounting, business administration, economics, biology, communications, graphic design, marketing, and linguistics" working as door-men, bouncers, bartenders, bike-taxi drivers etc.

And worst of all, many of them are under thousands of dollars in crushing debt for student loans.

Still taken from the video - Captions added

I certainly wouldn't tell anyone not to get a degree...but rather to research and carefully select an area of study...one that you know has plenty of good employment opportunities!

AND to avoid student loans!

Yes...not taking student loans may mean you'll have to work your way through school...you may not be able to attend that $25,000.00 a semester school...and it may take you longer to earn a degree...but in the end you won't be saddled with a fortune in debt.

Also be very cautious about those trade schools running ads on TV all day and all night:  "Become a hairstylist... a dental assistant...a graphic artist...a forensic specialist...etc."  I've personally known people who were left with nothing but bills and a worthless diploma after going to one.

Make sure you ask about job placement too.  Ask how many from each class are employed in that field after graduating...and if they offer placement assistance.  If they get squirley when answering these questions...RUN, FORREST, RUN!!!!!

Amazing Video: Climb To The Top Of A 1,768 Foot Tower!

"Helmet Cam":  Nearing the top!

Imagine going to work where it's your job to climb to the top of a 1,768 foot tower, using an attached harness only on short breaks during the ascent!

While I watched this, I thought about how one small mis-step could be the beginning of a very fast trip down to the ground!!

There may be more dynamic videos people have posted around the internet...but I found myself holding my breath through most of this one!!

TRON Inspired - Amazing "Light Suit" Performance

Hello!

I was stumblin' around StumbleUpon.com and came across this pretty amazing TRON inspired "light suit" dance performance.

It was created by a Japanese crew called the Wrecking Orchestra.

It starts a bit slow...in fact the first moves don't start until about 30 seconds in...but it picks up speed from there and by about 1:15 they're rockin'!  " )

Enjoy!

Mariachi Band Serenades a Beluga Whale

I'm not sure exactly what to file this under!  : /

It's been on YouTube a few days over a year and has received over 2.6 million views!

It's a video of a Mariachi Band serenading a Beluga Whale...and the whale seems to really be enjoying it.

Towards the end it puts its head against the aquarium glass twice...possibly to feel the vibrations from the music better.

So how did a mariachi band end up playing for a whale?

According to the video description:

"Mariachi Connecticut played for a beluga whale at Mystic Aquarium (in Connecticut) where they were performing for a wedding."

Video: Can Men And Women Just Be Friends?

Ok...so we all know of friendships between males and females...maybe you're in one...or have several.

BUT...Independent Filmmakers Jesse Budd and Patrick Romero decided to scratch under the surface by interviewing young men and women at Utah State University and put together a video called:

Why Men And Women Can't Be Friends

The responses to the questions asked in the video are kinda funny and in most cases quite revealing depending on the gender of the person answering:

The REAL truth isn't always what it seems.

A few screen captures from the video:
"All my best friends are guys."

"Would your friend Dave hook up with you if you gave him the chance?"

And the Video:

Video: 100 Riffs (A Brief History of Rock N' Roll)

If yer a musician...especially a guitar player...you'll probably enjoy this one.

From the description on YouTube:
"Alex Chadwick plays 100 famous guitar riffs in one take giving you a chronological history of rock n' roll."

For extra points...see how many you can name without looking at the screen.

I Like Pandas - Animation By Jessica Borutski

Hi-dee-ho!

Ok...for this one we get in the "way back machine" (per internet standards anyway) and set it to 2006 when a young, talented animator named Jessica Borutski posted her animation/video I Like Pandas on YouTube.

It's cute...and a little creepy...but funny creepy...not "dark, back- alley, all alone and hearing foot-steps in the middle of the night creepy".

And it's a little addictive in the sense that you cannot "unsee" it once seen...and the day will come when you want to see it again.   : )

Mwah-hahahahaha

Oops...ok sorry...I got a bit dramatic for a second there.

Here's a look at a "screen-capture" from the video:

Somebody That I Used to Know - Walk off the Earth (Gotye - Cover)

Two days ago I launched this blog with a great video of awesome people doing awesome things:
http://perfectusstuffus.blogspot.com/2012/06/my-shiney-new-blog.html

I loved the background song and decided to look into it and found it on YouTube (of course).

If you want to find it there just search for:

"Somebody That I Used to Know - Walk off the Earth (Gotye - Cover)"

Otherwise click play below.

If you're like me and are wondering if they can do this performance live...why yes...they can.

After this video went viral (almost 119 million views as of now) they've appeared on Ellen's TV Show performing it live.

Since then they've done it in concerts and on a very odd German show where at the end of the song the hosts (a weird collection of peeps...ruin it by singing along...AT THE TOP OF THEIR SWEET LITTLE LUNGS).

: )

Here's a link to one of the best of the live versions I found...performing it in concert right after their appearance on Ellen...proving they can do it live.
http://youtu.be/ZThhXrAMy48

On the German TV show they say it took two days of filming the song for the video posted above  and got the best take on their 30th performance.

Hope yer having a GREAT day!!!
