AMAZING Short Movie/Animation: FREIGHT

If you watch movie credits from decades ago you'll notice that they list very few names when compared with movies produced now where hundreds and hundreds of people are listed in all kinds of categories.

For example, recently I watched the extra features from a current movie on DVD and they said they had employed some 200 animators alone.

---------------------------

In contrast, it is very interesting to see what a few people can accomplish with computer software, and LOTZA hard work, drive, passion, and talent.

----------------------------

Case in point is the short movie (4:30)—FREIGHT—posted below—where the credits are just nine names and 11 lines long.

Find that list under the video. *

----------------------------

Of course, when it comes to creating a compelling movie (no matter its budget)—it has to have strong visuals, believable acting, and an excellent story-line/script—and FREIGHT does all that magnificently.

-----------------------------

Hope you enjoy this one too.

AWESOME 2D Animation - Runaway - Cordell Barker

Hi!

Sometimes you just hafta laugh.

So today you'll find an excellent 9 minute, 2D animation from Canada called, Runaway.

The characters and backgrounds have a simple charm—but it's filled with pointed social commentary about class disparity, work ethic, and even romance—adding depth to it as well.

Screen Grabs From 'Runaway'
 --------------------------------------

Runaway was created by the same multi-talented animator, background artist, director, and story-man Cordell Barker who made "The Cat Came Back"—a very hilarious short animation.

I posted that here back in 2013—if you wanna have a look at that too (opens new window):

-----------------------------

Anyway, according to today's YouTube video description:

Runaway is "set to the rousing music of Ben Charest (Triplets of Belleville), [and] takes you on a journey that is both funny and disastrous."

Hope you enjoy this one too.

Awesome Song & Animation: Darlingside - White Horses

 Hi!

Earlier today—I received an email with a link to a Vimeo video—and once I'd watched that, I started snooping through recent animations there and within a few moments found one from a band called Darlingside—with their song "White Horses," which I've embedded below

Sometimes I know almost immediately that a video is hitting my "feelz."

With "White Horses"—I liked what I was hearing from the very first few bars of the song—and within a few lines of the lyrics—I loved it.

--------------------------------------------

In addition, the animation beautifully atmospheric throughout—with characters having a simple charm—all encompassed in a story that is both sweet and poignant—as a younger brother tirelessly chases after his older sibling—slowly growing older until.....

Anywho—I think it is all quite well done—and hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

Lyrics are included under the video if ya wanna follow or sing along.  ☺

White Horses - Lyrics

My brother led me outside
Be quiet, I’ve got a light
No moon tonight
Sitting on the ledge outside the second floor
We could hear the sirens running up the road

[Chorus]
White horses for Chicago
Black water brings me back home

[Verse 2]
October, I lose my mind
Cross over Wisconsin line
Apple cider signs
Looking for a trace of our orchard underground
Growing in the basements beneath a brand new town

[Chorus]
White horses for Chicago
Black water brings me back home

[Verse 3]
Every year it's about the same
I'm swimming in my dreams across the lake
In second place
Come the winter I’m driving blind
A tuxedo doing donuts on the ice
Black-and-white on white
Doesn't matter if I sleep or follow it out of bed
I know that in the morning it's water in my head

[Chorus]
White horses for Chicago
Black water brings me back home

White horses for Chicago
Black water brings me back home

Pickels And Dill—Dog And Pig Are Best Friends

Today's video is kinda sweet—so maybe I should post it with a warning to those who are sensitive to sugar.

But seriously—if you are a pet lover—you know how special they become to you—most of us would do almost anything to make sure that they are happy and healthy.

Today, we're introduced to an unlikely pair—Pickles and Dill—a pet pig and dog who have become inseparable best friends.

Dill (left) and Pickles (right) - A screen capture from the video below

The owner elaborates in the vid, that after Pickles accidentally ate poison and almost died—she decided to give him the best life she could and thought he needed a friend.

Enter Dill—a French Bulldog—who rapidly became Pickles' best friend.

You can check 'em out on Instagram too: http://thedo.do/pickles.

Enjoy!
