"Porky Pig" Sings Blue Christmas

Hope you had a GREAT Christmas and have all the best in 2020!

Since many are still in the Holiday spirit it still seems timely to share today's "music-only" video of "Porky Pig" singing Blue Christmas.

Voice Actor Mel Blanc and Porky Pig

YouTube's TopshelfTom's Channel offers this info about the song:

"Porky Pig's Blue Christmas, was released by 'Seymour Swine And The Squeelers.'

The recording was the brain-child of Charlotte, North Carolina, radio disc-jockeys, John Boy and Billy — though John is credited with suggesting vocalist Dennis (Denny) Brownlee perform the Christmas song imitating Porky Pig.

After it was recorded, it started getting radio airplay, and then people began purchasing thousands of copies.

Fast forward almost 3 decades" and the song has become a fan favorite novelty song of the Christmas Season.

Though it's an impression of the character the late Mel Blanc created (who also voiced Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and countless others), if you loved Porky Pig you'll probably get a kick outa this one.

Enjoy!

Christmas Day! BEAUTIFUL Christmas Song

Merry Christmas!

Just found a video on YouTube called Most BEAUTIFUL Christmas Song EVER Performed On BASS — and with most channels hyping their content with wild claims I was prepared to be underwhelmed.

Fortunately within a few seconds into the video I was pleasantly surprised.

Uploaded by bassist Charles Berthoud — it's way more than just a bass "solo" — and features a soft, lush music track along with Berthoud's melodic bass performance of the traditional Christmas Carol, O Come O Come Emmanuel.

Adding a nice touch to the video — it shows footage of Berthoud playing his instrument in various locations.

London Symphony - Handel's Messiah - "For Unto Us A Child Is Born"

In just a few days, Christmas will be upon us (December 25th) — a day when many Christians around the world will be celebrating the earthly birth of Jesus Christ.

With that in mind — you'll find a video below from the London Symphony Orchestra's live performance — a selection from Handel's Messiah - For Unto Us A Child Is Born.

The words are from a Biblical prophecy about the coming Messiah — "written between 739 and 681 B.C":

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government
Shall be upon His shoulder; and his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9: 6

Monstera Deliciosa - AWESOME Animation Plus A "Making Of" Video

If you enjoy seeing well-crafted 2D style animation, then check out the two videos below.

The first video features the short animation, Mostera Deliciosa, which was used as an opening short film for the Annecy 2009 International Animation Film Festival (FIFA), and was created by students from Gobelins - School of Image.

The animation weaves eye-pleasing backgrounds with well designed character designs and flowing movement, into a short tale about a hapless "lamplighter" being enticed through a lush and fanciful forest.

The video below it shows the "making of" process for Monstera Deliciosa — including character design and background iterations—and color, animation and lighting tests.

If you like seeing how animations are brought to life—then no doubt you'll find it informative and interesting.

Huge Boulder Crashes Down Mountain Narrowly Missing Hikers

The last post on this blog (12-7-19) shared a dramatic dash-cam video that showed a boulder bashing out of trees after tumbling down a hill—completely smashing just the front of a car on the road in Tibet—and reportedly leaving the passenger(s) without any major injuries.

Today's video (embedded below) again demonstrates how mere seconds can mean the difference between life and death—as it captures the moment a HUGE boulder crashes down a mountain—right through a campsite—narrowly missing tents and several hikers who are seen scrambling out of the way just in the nick of time.

Huge Boulder Smashes Car On Road In Tibet

We've all had close calls when we find ourselves missing disaster by only moments.

Today's post features a very scary dash-cam video where a very large boulder crashes down a hill and through some trees and demolishes a car driving down a narrow 2 lane road in southeast Tibet

It appears from the video that the cab of the car wasn't impacted—and best of all—the video up-loader says that police say there were no major injuries resulting from the accident.
