Video: Flower duet by Léo Delibes - Vocalists Anna Netrebko & Elina Garanca

Clément Philibert Léo Delibes

I love this beautiful duet!

Sous le dôme épais ("Flower Duet"), written by French composer Léo Delibes (21 February 1836 – 16 January 1891) has been used in movies, television shows and commercials...and so while most people couldn't name it or it's author...it will seem familiar to many.

If you listen to the beginning and it doesn't seem familiar to you, either wait or fast-forward to 1:19...which is the most well known (and used) section.

That this version was performed "live" with vocalists Anna Netrebko and Elina Garanca just makes it all the more beautiful.

Hope you enjoy it!

  1. Exquisite!
My daughter was training her voice for classical music so I have a deep appreciation for all the practice and training that went into these two women.

I love this song and have heard a couple of young ladies give their go at performing this one. It was beautiful but just listening to these two shows me that the young ladies have very far to go.

    Blessings,

  2. Hi Child of God! Yes...to either work at something yourself or see others do so gives a greater appreciation to all the effort that must have gone into acheiving this kind of performance.

  3. Hi Jephyr,
I've always loved this song, never knew what it was called and did not recognize it here at first but it is beautiful. I love lots of classical music and opera, and folk and country too, there are some amazing singers around.
